Would you like the title of the “Best Tosser”? Then come to Stretton on the second Bank Holiday Monday in May and take part in the World Nurdling Championship. Supposedly, the game dates back to the Middle Ages. The championship is organised by the Jackson Stops Inn. Here’s how you play: 13 old pennies are tossed into a hole drilled into the seat of an oaken settle. That’s it! The game is simple, but fun. Plus, you get to celebrate afterwards in a bar full of great beverages.
