Warsaw Autumn - Contemporary Music Festival
From: 2014.09.21 To: 2014.09.29
Catch the fall leaves in Warsaw during Poland's largest contemporary classical music festival featuring musicians from around the world. With nearly twenty concerts in nine days, the city is thick with music. The festival first started in 1956 as a way to bring modern classical music to the streets of the northern Baltic city. And for decades after, the festival has kept on doing just that. The National Philharmonic Hall and the Zacheta Gallery host the events, and showcase works such as Schonberg, Berg and Webern, in addition to keeping more modern pieces by Boulez, Maderna and John Cage. The event champions contemporary music, and is an opportunity to hear what's up-and-coming in an up-and-coming city.
