Looking for the highest peak in the Netherlands? Then you’d better get the hell out of Europe and make your way to the Caribbean. Here, one of the tiny islands, Saba, is home to Mount Scenery (887 m), the highest point on earth still belonging to the Dutch on paper. "The Unspoiled Queen", as the island is often referred to, is home to the month-long event series christened Sea & Learn, held every October, offering a wide range of lectures, nightly presentations, field trips and various research projects. Scholars and academics teach you everything you need to know about the flora and fauna of Saba and its surroundings. The events are completely free and provide a rare chance for locals and tourists to mingle and swap experiences.
