Description

Szombathely  boasts a rich, two-millenium-old history, as it was founded by Emperor Claudius around 50 A.D. The Roman times with the traditions of the town are brought to life every year by people dressed up in contemporary costumes and a series of wonderful events and attractions during its grand historical event. The ancient buildings, the surviving archaeological fragments and the charming town centre all provide an atmospheric backdrop to the spectacular productions.
