Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo
From: 2013.07.01 To: 2013.07.08
Don’t expect to get a new cool pattern on your undeniably muscular body - Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo is a spectacle devoted to the acoustic aspect of military service. Held in downtown Halifax in the first week of July every year, Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo employs over 2,000 world-class Canadian and international military and civilian performers who help bring about the largest annual indoor show in the world. Hear and see the pipes and drums, military and civilian bands, historic re-enactments, dancers, acrobats, choirs, military displays and competitions, drama, comedy, and much more at this fast-paced family show. First staged in 1979, with Queen Elizabeth opening the original Nova Scotia Tattoo, the show received a special recognition in 2006, when Her Majesty the Queen added the Royal prefix to the event’s title. If you ever wish to leave the show, you can still enjoy a series of free noon-time concerts, parades and performances in various spots around the city, as well as the complementary workshops held by the groups taking part in the Tattoo.
