Rhythm and Booms
From: 2016.06.30 To: 2016.06.30
Welcome to the City of Four Lakes for the early celebration of Independence Day! Held at Warner Park, in the vicinity of the beautiful Lake Mendota, Rhythm and Booms is the largest fireworks presentation in the Midwest, combining a magnificent eruption of colors with the imposing sounds of 19th century cannons. During the day of the show, you can unwind with the music blasting from several stages set up in the park, enjoy a Madison Mallards baseball game, and observe a Black Hawk helicopter landing and F-16 fly-over. After the sunset, spectacular fireworks featuring over 15,000 shells and choreographed to music will color the sky above you. During the finale of the fireworks show, which lasts about half an hour in total, you will be stunned by cannon roars, produced by howitzers from the nearby Wisconsin Army National Guard. Don’t be afraid, the cannons will not scare you or your kids away, as you’ll be overly thunderstruck by the plethora of activities including a decorated bicycle parade, a 20-ride carnival, a bingo tent and marching bands. Finally, it’s worth keeping in mind that the proceeds from the event benefit local children’s charities.
