Description

The celebrations in Recco honoring Our Lady of the Suffrage are famous throughout Italy for the grandeur of the firework displays that illuminate the sky of each year on 7th and 8th September. Being Italy, everything has to be a competition and this happens to be a competitive fireworks. Each of the 7 districts of Recco has its own 'fire master' that leads his team in out-exploding the neighboring districts. A solemn procession follows on the 8th September and unwinds through the roads of the town with the Arca Argentea Suffragina and the magnificent wooden Crucifixes of the Ligurian Brotherhoods.
