Who said that potatoes are just for eating? Barnesville, a small town in Minnesota prides itself on growing the best spuds in the States and thus dedicates an entire festival to 'taters, featuring such quirky delights as mashed potato sculpting, a potato sack fashion show, potato car races and the down-and-dirty mashed potato wrestling. Also, here’s your chance to chow down on a wide variety of potato specialties like dumplings, lefse (Norwegian flatbread), donuts, pancakes and even potato sausages. As the event's official website puts it, "pick it, peel it, toss it, fry it, race it, bake it; but most of all enjoy it". Well said.
