Polar Circle Marathon
From: 2013.10.20 To: 2013.10.20
If you are looking for a perfect combination of an extreme running event with an exploration of one of the most remote and beautiful corners of the world, then you are welcomed to the Polar Circle Marathon in the Ice Cap, Greenland. Polar Circle Marathon is a classical 42.195 km marathon, first held in 2001 in the unusual background of Greenland’s endless ice and snow. Though the weather conditions are rather tough, the runners usually admire glacier tongues and tunnels, tundra, moraine landscapes and soundless, arctic desert that they pass. That is a physically challenging marathon and even if you cannot get the first place, it is quite rewarding in terms of emotions and unforgettable impressions.
