Description

Plai Festival is an impressive World Music festival taking place each September in the Romanian border city of Timisoara. Locals have dubbed the city "little Vienna" but aside from some nice Hapsburg architecture the title is a stretch. Plai means field in Romanian and the festival is staged on grassy area outside the city. Plai recently won the European Charlemagne Youth Prize awarded to projects that promote european and international understanding. Aside from great music there are a number of workshops and art exhibitions focused on multiculturism and tolerance.
