Octoberfest - Argentinian style! But this festival could be mistaken for the real thing. Held in the province of Corboba, thousands descend on the town of Villa General Belgrado each October for South America's second largest homage to the Bavarian tradition (after Brazil). The town itself was established by German speaking immigrants, and the mountain ranges of Corboda certainly give it an authentic alpine feel. Other clues that give away Cordoba's Germanic past include pastry and chocolate shops, traditional architecture, microbreweries and the occasional German newspaper at the local store. Oktoberfest in Villa General Belgrado is no exception. You can try Frankfurt sausages, leber-wurst and apfel strudel - oh and of course delicious beer. Don't forget to pack your lederhosen!
