Every year the Vikings conquer a small northern part in the United States. The Norwegian Autumn Festival, or Norsk Hostfest, has for decades now celebrated Scandinavian culture in the North Dakota town of Minot. Over 200 of Americans and Europeans of Viking descent demonstrate their artistry and skills in cooking, art and jewelry. The blend of traditional and contemporary style can be seen from every little corner of the festival as thousands of visitors walk around the many shops with all kinds of artsy items or the many cafes and restaurants spreading the wonderful smell of the Northern cuisine. The Festival has its own Hall of Fame where they announce as winners people who have contributed to the wider social good. While enjoying the sounds, scents and arts of the great Nordic people all you need is the food specialty Viking-on-a-stick to complete this wonderful Northern experience.
