Luminara of Saint Ranieri
From: 2013.06.15 To: 2013.06.15
Seventy thousand wax candles are meticulously placed on the palaces, bridges, towers, and waterways of Pisa during the Illuminations of Saint Ranieri. The result is an enchanting cityscape of light and reflections that will leave you speechless. The spectacle takes place annually on June 16th on the eve of Pisa's celebration of its patron saint, St. Ranieri. The best views are along the river Arno where the reflections of nearby buildings blend with hundreds of floating candles. Of course Pisa's famous 'leaning tower' is also decked out in oil lamps making a trip to the Piazza dei Miracoli another must-see.
