Description

It is one of the biggest dragon boat festivals in the world. Held in Lubeck, it draws it inspiration from ancient China. More than 2000 years in the Chu Dynasty Qu Yuan, a respected statesman and adviser to the king was accused of treason and banished. He threw himself into the Mi Lo River.The Dragon Boat race symbolizes the attempt by the fishermen to rescue Qu Yuan.
