London New Year's Day Parade

The "Lord Mayor of Westminster's Big Parade" is a feast of free entertainment for all the family on what is otherwise a dreary winter day spent recovering from your hangover. The first parade was in 1987 and the event quickly won its way into the hearts of Londoners. The Parade starts at 12 Noon on Piccadilly at the junction with Berkeley Street outside the Ritz Hotel and finishes around 3pm at Parliament Street. More than 10,000 performers representing 20 countries world-wide will perform for an audience of more than half a million spectators who cram London's most famous streets to see the fantastic spectacular as it weaves its way along the 2 mile route. The parade is beamed on live satellite broadcasts around the world. 3 hours of Live Satellite Coverage will be beamed around the world. Expect a healthy dose of marching bands, cheerleaders, clownsv acrobats, giant balloons and much more!
