Kosice Peace Marathon
From: 2013.10.07 To: 2013.10.07
Europe’s first and the world’s second marathon (after that of Boston) was first organized in 1924, with not more, than eight participants! Since then, the race has been held continuously every year – with significantly more participants –, except for two years during World War II. The International Peace Marathon is rightly held in one of the oldest towns in Slovakia, surprisingly also known as the city of youth. You will have the chance to admire the town’s rich history and extraordinary architecture in the city center, as you will run two laps around that area. With three universities and the average age of 35, you can expect truly enthusiastic spectators! And not only that, but also great organization, a relatively flat course and some of the best drink stations ever. Besides the classical marathon, halfmarathon, minimarathon and corporate run are amongst the options, but handbikers and those with weelchairs are also welcome.
