Description

An enormous display of fruit creativity makes what would otherwise be a normal autumn apple market a must-see world attraction. Since 1988, the apple market in Kivik has been a showcase of apple murals. These are 12 meters high "paintings" made by organizing the shades of up to 75,000 apples into intricate mosaics weighing up to four tons. The festival was started by artist Helge Lundstrãm, and is carried on now by his daughter Emma Karp. Please resist the temptation to touch the apples, if you thought a tumbling pile of apples at the supermarket was embrassing wait until you've sent a mural of apples crashing to the floor. Bonus: this apple exhibition is free.
