Description

Mallorca dresses in its best colours to celebrate Easter welcome Spring. Easter in Majorca is a beautiful event; celebrations begin on the first Sunday before Easter with the mass in Palma Cathedral, where priests and believers walk along the streets preceded by the bishop from Palma, while palm and olive tree branches are blessed with water. On Easter itself, huge images of Jesus Christ, the Virgin Mary and different saints are carried and followed through the city by colourful hooded persons. This is a time of year to be with one's family and also to eat traditional food like panades, robiols and ensaimadas.
