Hawaii International Film Festival
From: 2013.10.11 To: 2013.10.21
Not your usual movie fest, the Hawaii International Film Festival (HIFF) is held at locations scattered around the entire state. Since its humble beginnings in 1981, the event has grown into the region’s premier film fiesta, drawing an audience of over 80,000 people each year. With the aim of bridging East and West and promoting fresh talent, the two-week film orgy screens about 150 flicks from Asia, the Pacific Rim and North America, ranging from features and documentaries to shorts and even animated and digital works. If your idea of fun in Hawaii doesn’t involve sitting in dark cinemas, don’t despair: there are also free public screenings held on the beach for the likes of you!
