Gothenburg International Film Festival
From: 2014.01.27 To: 2014.02.06
Where can you find 200,000 film-hungry festival goers in medical need of a filmic diet? Where can you first find out who’ll win this year’s Dragon Awards and the Ingmar Bergman International Debut Award? Where can you find all of the big names (and the not so big names that want to be big names) from the Nordic film industry? You probably know the answer because you read the title… it’s the Gothenburg International Film Festival. The Festival was started in 1979 and today is the biggest film festival in the Nordic countries as well as being one of the biggest public film festivals in the world. Every year about 450 films from around 70 countries are screened and almost 123,000 tickets are sold. The festival program consists of films, seminars, evening concerts, club nights and a Nordic market place.
