At the end of June each year the Czech town of Prachtice travels back in time to its medieval glory days! An important part of the medieval trade route, Prachtice's economic importance has waned of late, but on weekend in June each year, you certainly wouldn't know it! Locals and foreigners alike come out in force to celebrate this once great town, with a historic marketplace, costumed parades, Renaissance music, theatre, sword-fighting, jesters and performances by foreign ensembles from partner towns entertaining the hordes. So if you want to witness a true spectacle of Czech pride and nostalgia, make your way to the Gold Salt Route Festival in Prachtice this year!
