What could be a better way to welcome in the New Year than standing in a Scottish city centre square for four hours in freezing temperatures? Ah, that doesn't sound so good does it? How about if you're surrounded by thousands of happy locals? Better? What about if there's live traditional music making it the largest outdoor ceilidh in Scotland? What about a drop of Scottish whiskey to keep warm? And some fireworks to stare at through a drunken haze? Sound better? Thought so. Now this bit's important - Hogmanay in Glasgow's George Square is brilliant and, unsurprisingly, very popular.
