Gathering of Nations PowWow
From: 2014.04.28 To: 2014.04.30
The Native American population has a long, complex and often hard history in the United States. Hundreds of tribes of different origins and ethnic affiliations lived on the territory of North America for centuries before European colonization. Very few survived till modern times, which is why the city of Albuquerque annually organizes an event, called “Gathering of Nations,” to celebrate the diversity and cultural heritage of the indigenous people. This three-day festival features multiple dance performances and contests, singing, Miss Indian World, Traditional Talent Presentations and Show, Indian’s Trader Market, art exhibitions, storytelling and cooking demonstrations. The American Business Association named this event one of the Top 100 Events in North America. You'll get a change to buy unique pieces of jewelry, clothing, accessories and art. This event is a perfect opportunity to learn about the history of the United States and Native Americans in a fun, engaging way.
