When Bahrain started hosting the F1 Grand Prix in 2004, the world-renowned Michael Schumacher won the circuit with Ferrari. Since then, it's seen winners like Felipe Massa and Fernando Alonso, pass the checked flag first. High speed, high performance and high adrenaline is what you can expect from Formula One. The "formula" refers to restrictions and rules placed by race officials and teams, but don't worry, these machines still reach race speeds reach 360 km/h (220 mph) with engines revving up to 18,000 RPMs and the cars are capable of pulling in excess of 5 G-force through the curves. With this kind of performance it is no surprise F1 is the world's most expensive sport. Race weekends are a spectacle even if you are not an automotive afficionado. Typically the first day is reserved for pit tours and inspecting the machines, the next day is for time trials, and race day is usually on Sundays. Sitting in the audience you'll feel your seat rattle as the cars wizz by and you'll be envied by the nearly 55 million fans watching the race on television.
