Wow! Just wow! For half a year Pêra is transformed into a whole new world, made entirely of sand. Each year FIESA, the International Sand Sculpture Festival, chooses a new theme around which artists create magical scenes entirely from sand. What makes this event so special is not only the skill involved, but also the size of the operation - thirty-five thousand tons of sand spread out over fifteen thousand square meters. Top sand artists from around the world come together in the creation of the yearly once-only exhibition, which is a must see for any who find themselves in the Algarve during the warmer months of the year.
