In the magical Bay of Praia Formosa on the island of Santa Maria, the International Festival of Music "August Tide" (Maré de Agosto), brings together leading names from various countries. A stage located only 20 metres from the sea hosts performances by leading names from the national and international musical scenes. A wide array of aesthetic currents of "world music" are represented in this renowned, high-quality event, that has already celebrated 20 editions.
