Newcomers look for sympathy on one stage, while big names bang out tunes on the other! This clash of young talented and energetic musicians and their well-known colleagues gives rock fans a good opportunity to enjoy great music and spot interesting newcomers. The whole event, free of charge, is envisioned as a polygon for talented local bands that might one day end up on the main stage. The festival, which takes place in Heuberg Park, has hosted bands like Simon Den Hartog, Nerd Academy or MBWTEYP in the past. The name of the festival – Esel – is derived from the town name Wesel but it's also a joke as "esel" in German means donkey, ass or jackass.
