Description
Hailed as the greatest free show on earth, Circleville Pumpkin Show, celebrating local agriculture, is held each October in Circleville, Ohio. Started in 1903, when the Mayor of Circleville invited the country folks to bring some of their produce to town and showcase them in Circleville, the show has developed into a pumpkin tribute spanning eight city blocks and attracting more than 300,000 visitors annually. At the festival, you can help eat the world’s largest pumpkin pie, munch on pumpkin waffles, pumpkin burgers, pumpkin chili or ice cream, vote for Miss Pumpkin Show Queen, hop on the rides, watch eight stunning parades, including Pet Parade and Baby Parade, or participate in hog calling, egg toss, and pumpkin carving. During the festival, you will surely get intimate with the benevolent orange monsters, so don’t be surprised if you are invited to decide on the prettiest pumpkin.
