Cheyenne Frontier Days
From: 2014.07.22 To: 2014.07.31
Cheyenne Frontier Days could be the highlight of your year if you journey to Wyoming this summer. It is one of the biggest (if not the biggest) outdoor rodeos in the country. Originating in 1897, the event now attracts over 200,000 visitors each year. Many activities, such as a tour through Wild Horse Gulch, pancake breakfast (over 100,000 pancakes are served!) and entertainment in the Oasis Area are free to the public. You can attend nightly music and stand-up comedy concerts as well as wild west shows, which include such attractions as Western riding and a Native American village. There will also be a breathtaking air show performed by the United States Air Force Thunderbirds. The city is full of cowboy style bars, which will serve you a wide range of drinks. And, of course, there will be rodeos! Lots of them! Each performance will feature over 40 bucking bulls and 70 saddle and bareback broncs. Make sure to get your hotel reservations as soon as possible, because lodging fills up so fast that people have to find accommodation in the neighboring states of Nebraska and Colorado!
