Description

An odd combination of a huge cattle market and an annual mass bathing ceremony, the Chandrabhaga Fair is quite a sight to behold. On full moon day in the month of Kartik (October/November), thousands of pilgrims immerse themselves in the cold water of the holy Chandrabhaga River before the crack of dawn. Why? In the hope of purification, of course. The soggy religious ritual is held in Jhalarapatan, 6 kilometers from Jhalawar. Take the plunge!
