Description
Bring a quarter as much change as there are curved, smooth cobblestones making up the streets of Bern's medieval center and you'll have your "entrance fee" to the annual Buskers Festival in Bern. During this festival, the old town streets swell with buskers, amateur musicians who play music unsolicited on the streets for pocket change. The festival looks to bring esteem to the busker, and everything is fair game. There are solo and group performances featuring everything from modern dance to smooth jazz. Additionally, some theatrics have taken to giving busking new meaning; so don't be surprised if puppet acts or vocal musical duets pop up too. This is a musical time to visit the city that is an entire World Heritage Site.
