Bun Pi Mai
From: 2014.04.13 To: 2014.04.16
All those who've had crappy New Year's parties or need more than one night to celebrate it properly can have a reprise in April. This is when people in Laos celebrate their New Year and the party lasts for three days. Buckets of water, talcum powder, jasmine petals and barbecued water buffalo await as this wonderfully festive Buddhist New Year's celebration. The Lao New Year’s celebration consists of religious rituals an entertaining bash and the party very often turns into an aquatic battle, where almost every visitor goes home completely wet and covered in talcum powder. Celebrate Pi Mai in Laos capital Vientiane this April!
