The president of the country begins the national day celebrations by saluting of all the units of the Bulgarian army in a grand military parade. The president and his wife also host a reception at the historical museum at the president’s resident “Boyana”. Subsequent ceremonies are held across the country, depicting victorious battles of Bulgarian and Russian soldiers in the 1877-1878 liberation war. In various Bulgarian towns and cities people come together to sing folk songs and tales in their traditional dresses. Main album
