Description

For authentic folk music you'll have a tough time finding something better than Broadstairs Folk Week. Hundreds of concerts are held in local pubs where a tip jar is passed around to buy a pint beer for the musicians. Some larger concerts charge a modest entry fee, but the intimate feel that makes folk music so enjoyable is preserved. Broadstairs Folk Week has been taking place since the 1960s and has grown from mostly local artists to a nice mix of international performers. Given it's authentic folk focus, expect to hear plenty of fiddles, acoustic guitars and accordions.
