Description

For two days, camels get a well-earned chance to shine in the famous fortified desert city of Bikaner. Drawing thousands of visitors each year, the festival kicks off with a huge parade of the humped animals, bedecked with bright-colored textiles. Then the camels compete against each other in various races and competitions, from camel obedience to best-of-breed competitions to acrobatics. As darkness falls, daring fire dancers strut their stuff and colorful firework displays light up the skies.
