Through the years, the Barcelona Marathon has become a symbol of the city. It’s a unique opportunity to prove oneself in a 42.195 km long marathon and at the same time enjoy the beautiful sight of a city built in the time of the Roman Empire. Barcelona was also the home of the world-known architect, Gaudi. His masterpieces, like La Pedrera or Sagrada Familia make the run even more enjoyable. The marathon course contains some inclines at the beginning, but mostly it’s flat. That doesn’t mean that it’s an easy run. The weather can be quite hot. All this is quickly forgotten if you are fortunate enough to cross the finish line. This gives a whole new meaning to a walking tour of Barcelona.
