AutoRama, America’s Premier Custom Show Car Series, organizes another amazing event. AutoRama is a large-scale showcase of custom-built cars. The event was first organized in 1954 with 1,500 people attending it. The Don Ridler award celebrates the legacy of Don Ridler, a promotions agent and publicist hired to garner public attention for the event. His tactic, which proved to be successful, was inviting popular performers to entertain guests and visitors. The award is highly prestigious and competitive. In the 70s, Autorama was the highest paying car show in the country. Many celebrities have attended this event, including John Stamos, Mark Hamill, Tito Santana and Adam West. Previous years features such bands as The Turtles, Chubby Checker, Bobby Rydell, Bo Diddley and Alice Cooper. This automobile extravaganza is worth the trip. Similar events take place in many other US states as well.
