Description

Feria de Aranjuez (first week of September) is the re-enactment of a famous local mutiny. Each district in Aranjuez depicts scenes of the mutiny acted out by about a hundred residents in the town, with texts based on 'Episodios Nacionales' by Pérez Galdos. The scenes include the attack and burning of Godoy's House, staging in the street of Goya's paintings concerning witchcraft, with a Goyesque Bullfight, cultural and sports events, and big outdoor celebrations rounding off the fiesta.
