New York City's much maligned Hell's Kitchen area comes alive this May as the 9th Avenue International Food Festival comes to town! Foodies from across the world have been flocking to the area between 37th and 57th Streets on 9th Avenue since 1973 for what must surely be the world's best food festival and street fair. 9th Avenue is closed to cars for the event, and over a million people pass through the festival in a single weekend. Every ethnicity imaginable is represented in the 9th Avenue Food Festival through its cuisine, with everything from Ethiopian to Argentinean, Cajun to Trinidadian and Turkish to Vietnamese on offer to get your taste buds working. Stages for live music and dancing will be set up in the middle of the fair to give you a chance to work off some of those chorizo sandwiches and spanikopitas, and Egyptian belly dancing, German folk dancing and Arabian scarf dancing will entertain those who just need to take a break from all that eating. So make sure you get yourself along to 9th Avenue in Hell's kitchen this spring for the food extravaganza.
